Budget Desserts with only 3 Ingredients! Puff Pastry, Jam & Butter. Everyone loves dessert, but the cost of buying ready-made sweets can punish your bank account. The budget recipes section use cheap ingredients without compromising too much on taste.

Budget Desserts are also usually made from “staple” items so there is no need to duck out to the shop if your sweet tooth is acting up and needs satisfaction pronto. You can eat this dessert warm or cold. With the addition of some dusted icing sugar or ice cream on the side you wont be disappointed.

Jam & Pastry Dessert On A Budget

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Serving Size: 10 Small Squares

Jam & Pastry Dessert On A Budget


  • 2 x Sheets Of Puff Pastry
  • 3 X Teaspoons of jam
  • 1 x Teaspoon butter


  1. Take a sheet of pastry and butter it, Then spread jam along the whole square,
  2. Take the other sheet of pastry, cut lattice lines along the sheet, Put it on top of the jam covered ed pastry (like a sandwich)
  3. In a preheated oven (160 degrees) bake on a baking paper lined tray for approx 20 minutes or until golden. Slice and serve warm or cold. You can dust with icing sugar if you wish.
